  • Source for cheap clear coat?

I was wondering where I can buy a cheap, but descent clear coat finish. I am going to paint my car come spring...

I am going to do it in a mini-cooper style. Black = under trim on sides, bumbers, and roof. Original festiva hot red = every where else and wheels. I have a version of this now, but with white instead of black. I personally think it is a good look for the festiva and small cars in general. What do you all think? I will post pictures of it when I do it in April or whenever it is warm enough.

I just painted mine last night and used Dupont Nason paint and clear. 1 gallon paint, 1 gallon reducer, activator, 1 gallon clear, and 2 qts. hardener came to $315. Add in all the primers epoxy and sandable), thinners, sandpaper, fillers and misc stuff I have $650-700 in materials and I did all the work myself. I could have save a few bucks but expect to spend at least that if you want it to look nice. The clear sprayed so nice, only 2 small runs on the grill. When I do my 68 stang I will use this paint line again. My friend who is a painter was supervising my painting said it sprayed better than the more expensive PPG stuff he used on his mustang. So that is what I would recommend.

I will be doing a write up or "how I did it" on painting soon and will post it on my cardomain site.
