  • shogun bodykit. where do it get one?

im looking a making my festiva midengine car and im wondering where i can get a shogun bodykit for it. ive seen pics of them only as well as the shogun that jay leno owns. but, i have yet to be able to find the kit and i was wondering where i would find it at. if anyone knows please inform me.

im not going to go the same route with my car that most others do when they makes theirs a shogun, i plan on putting a small-block ford V-8 in it. the power to weight ratio should be pretty awesome. but im not gonna stop there, i also intend to beef up the suspension and brakes and put a full cage and five point harnesses in it as well for safety. since it will more or less be like a sardine can with a rocket engine attatched to it lol

The company that bought the molds has no interest in makeingany more shogun panels if I recall correctly. I want to thik Speedway motors bought the molds, but I am not sure.

yup, Bill Smith, Speedway Motors. The molds are in his automotive museum. He won't even let anyone take measurements from them. Only eight of the body kits were ever made. One prototype, six production cars, one set of spares. I know someone that posts here has the spares (007 is his name I think) that he is using to build a ShoGun. Everyone else has just made their own bodywork.

do a search. the mid engine shogun style swap requires a lot of fabrication and done properly is not cheap.

Im too needed the body panels for this style of swap, I ended up fabricating plugs to make molds off of. Very labor intensive and expensinve. Once the molds are finsihed and I pop out a set for my car I may produce a few extra sets. They will not be an exact copy of the original shogun but based on the basic theam of the car.( Bill claims to own the rights to the SHOgun / shogun name but I dought it as the molds traded several hands before he got them)

yeah i may try and see if i can adapt some other type of bodykit to it instead. its still in the design stage so its still pretty flexible as far as how it will look. i havent even settled on the engine for it yet. ill be putting up drawings as i figure out how i want to do it
