  • front glass rails are loose

Anyone else come across this issue?

I'm just wodering if I'm going to need new doors. I just swapped some new regulators, no love.

The windows still "bind" at the very top.

Mon arme a moi, c'est un stylo.

Do you have the door panels off? Do you mean the channel that holds the glass seal? Can you see where it came loose? Was it welded? You shouldn't need new doors. I think you can fix it. I may be tight but maybe you can use a sheetmetel screw to hold it together. New seals are available from FMS That may help the binding issue too.

I still ave the panel off (driver) I spent all of sunday trying stuff. No matter what I did, the glass always tips forwards, then binds.

I can't see a screw fixing it. Anything I put "through" the dor would nterfere with the path of the glass.

Used regs, & yes I white greased the rails/guides. I'm going to try some new glass if I can.

There's 2 bolts at the bottom of the glass. Something tells me there should be much less "play" that there is presently, they will not tighten more than they are presently...

The only fix that I know of is to buy new regulators, they wear out over time!

I had that problem on my Swift GTi and took it to a glass/windshield shop, and told me the problem was the rubber in the rails/guides. They're supposed to have some "hair" in their groove when they are new, which prevents the window from rubbing against the rubber, but it wears over time. You either have to grease the grooves periodically, or put new ones, if they're still available.
