They suggest appling the tint to the back window in 6 in horizontal strips, overlapping the strips 1/32". Might not be to bad on a hatch but Id buy an extra roll or two if I was doing the rear window in the following video. Id probably come out of the back seat with a six inch strip of tint wrapped around my head and stuck in my hair.

Nice work. I've been wanting to get my windows tinted... but all the faded purple/ bubbly tint jobs I see around town make me nervous to do it myself.
Im curious... those who have done the rear in strips.. can you see the lines?89SX funtop! Fully loaded!

I had my festiva professionally tinted and they did the hatch in 1 piece, i know the pro's use a heat gun to curve it to the shape of the window

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I think you could do a festy hatch in three or even two pieces easily. Then you would only have one or two lines if they do show. I would say the darker the tint the less likely youd see the overlap. The festiva rear glass is pretty flat compared to most other rear windows.sigpic

Lol, I guess I will just use this post to ask this question instead of making a new one. I've been wanting to tint my back 3 windows for quite some time and I took the old bubbly purple tint that was on the 2 side windows for who knows how long, but when I went to do the hatch, the tint came off, but I'm guessing its the glue that is still on there where the bubble were. So does anyone know of any strong cleaning solutions that could possibly dissolve this glue?
