  • Brush Guard Installation

I installed a brush guard a few weeks ago, so I thought I'd post some pics of how I did it. I decided to go with a Deathrace/Mad Max style look, so this is just the beginning. I like it. Makes it look tough haha. A co-worker bought an s-10 blazer, with a brushguard. I jokingly asked if I could take it off and put it on my car and he said "sure, its yours". Sweet. Free stuff to bolt to my car.
    Before

Cut down to the bumper support

Welding on brackets, holes drilled for bolt on installation

Bolted on. The remaining plastic bumper on either side remains.

After. Now I'm ready to kill shopping carts.:toothy7:

I think I'm going to paint the car some flat, weathered nasty combination of black, gray, red or something, but do enjoy the glossy white I have now.

Here is a grille/badge idea I have not seen yet that I tried

there are few from Cali on here....as far as the brush guard. It is ok but I would not have cut up the bumper. You could get one that just bolts into the tow hooks in the front like Austyfrosty's. If you want to take it off then you have a cut up bumper.

I have extra bumpers, but no intention of taking it off, full intent on making it look like a tank lol. I'd imagine the ones that bolt on as low as the tow loops would flex into the grille if something (shopping cart, deer, Chuck Norris) was hit by the Festiva. Thanks for the compliments so far guys.

sweet bush bar bumper i LOVE it!!! i was gonna stick on on my car but im saving it for my winter car. if you wanna make your car look tuff you got to get a light bar on the roof, a lift kit and a whinch on the bumper... now thats tuff here is a pic of the bumper i was gonna stick on my festiva:

its about 2 inches to wide for a perfect fit but i could have choped it down. you should add some wrap around bars to yours. i think it would look better, but thats just me...
