I have never been charged that, that is why I am confused. My understanding was, the seller was charged 3% only if the buyer used a credit card or had a premier/business account. I have had people transfer money to me and I have then transferred it to my bank account and never had to pay a fee. I have a personal account so maybe that is why I never get charged.

I know they charge that when buying things through ebay. They may not charge if you are just transferring money...I'm not really sure though

          • When buying stuff online, sellers are not allowed to charge the 3% fee. So if you find an ebay seller like that, you can report them to paypal and get reimbursed.

            Paypal has the following statement:

"In accordance with PayPal's User Agreement under Surcharges, you agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the
sale of goods or services, as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions."

I have no issue with paying this fee for this item because festivaWES is not selling these hoods to make money off of us, but rather to help us. So in a sense we are not buying a good from him but rather transferring money through him like we are doing through paypal. This fee covers his cost. I was only asking the questions for clarification.

Did you find out how much deposits are, yet?

            • I don't know what the deal is with the fee, I just know it has always been taken out of my payment when I sell things on ebay and receive payment through paypal.
              Edit: Just found this...
Get detailed information about PayPal's consumer fees. Find PayPal's prices for sending or receiving money, internationally or domestically.

              • What if we do a money transfer through paypal as a personal transaction and do it as payment owed? Technically we could do this since it does fall into this category. If we do it this way, there is no money lost according to the fee chart as long as it comes from a bank account.

I was thinking the same thing. Since TECHNICALLY we aren't paying Wes for a product. I'm just not sure. I'm fine with paying the fee or just paying by money order, as long as everything is worked out and everyone ends up happy

                  • I would require 50% deposit to set the order in and 50 % when these are ready to ship
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. 120 per fiberglass, 180 for carbon fiber.

                    Thank You

This is from the maker via email.

No one worry about the 3% unless you are paying with a credit card that's what the fee is for i looked into it....I have a business account.
