1993 escort gt seat in drivers side vs festy lx seat on pass side

Swap was easy, careful not to strip the bolts holding the back on. The escort had hex bolt heads which I used instead of the festy allen heads. Got some sewing to do, then gonna put a seat cover over it since the red pinstripe doesn't really match.

Oh yea and I got both escort seats for 20 bones

Nice write up. I cannot figure out how to get the outer side plastic cover off over the recline handle. Does the handle come off somehow? Nobody has mentioned it in seat swap threads so im sure im missing something obvious here, but i cant get it off.

Good catch, I hadn't thought to mention that.

On some seats, the handle is loose. You can pull it off and then re-glue it back on after you remove the cover. On other seats, I have cut the inside of the slot to get the handle out; then you can re-glue it back on if you want to.

It's a press fit, a light nylon hammer used judiciously will do the trick.
