  • Rear wiper mod completed

Thanks to Sasquatch and his write up my rear wiper now parks at the bottom of the window. Following his instructions it took less that half an hour to complete.

I think it looks much better there. Just ignore the rust spots, they'll be fixed later.

      found by using advanced search
entering "rear wiper" as a keyword
entering "sasquatch" in the search by poster section

Nice job on the mod by the way looks good - now you just need to relocate your third brake light

Third brake light is already done. I've got an LED strip mounted inside at the top. If you look closely at the photo you can see a cutout at the top of the tint... that's where the light is. You can see it better in this photo...

                operation scheduled

I have scheduled an operation on a brand new, never been energized, Festiva wiper motor. I just picked up my eBay donor yesterday.

                Here they are:

Report to the operating room, at once!

If I get a festiva on monday, I'll probably be doing this mod. I really hope I get it

                    operation successful

I am pleased to report that the operation was a success. Two things I noticed while performing surgery, was that the festiva gear shaft was a few thou thicker than the escort shaft. This made it more difficult to tap out. Also the circlips inside the Escort wiper motor did not have any holes in them. I wasted a full minute trying, because they were both covered in grease. Talk about mental cruelty!

I've still been meaning to do this but i have been so distracted with everything else

Anyone have an escort wiper motor they wanna sell?:

Nice Ian ! I need to do that to five or six festivas. I like your 1.6i badge, I like the little details.
