Maybe, it's a good thing I listened to you guys and never bothered hooking up the SRS airbaig in my Tib seat. They probably wouldn't deploy and give me a false sense of security. No wonder they discontinued the car.

The Tib seat slides forward all the way to allow plenty of room for rear access.
It does not make contact with the steering wheel or console.

"Lights aren't turned off" is the one and only warning buzzer I've ever had any appreciation for. Why is it then that this is found only on tach clusters?

Sorry Bert, I haven't opened the cluster up yet. Later this summer. I'm installing new carpet and getting A/C charged.

Don't do it. Even a hearing impaired guy like me (too much construction/chainsaw/firearm noise without ear plugs) can hear whether he's left the lights on or not. Nothing worse than being alone and in a hurry and returning to your car in the cold and dark after a long day and seeing a faint glow coming from the headlights. Been there done that often enough over the past 40 years.

I saved a nice set of black cloth seats from an early Miata that got crushed when I worked at an auto salvage. The sat good and were plenty narrow enough for a Festiva. But Festiva seats have strange mounting points and I didn't figure out how to make it work. Went through the same thing with a set of early Focus seats.

You have got to be creative to install different seats in a Festiva. Those rails on the bottom of the Festy seats are way different than any other car.

Here is my write up on an install of Pontiac Montana seats into a Festy, and how I did it with pics and measurements.
I wont be the same for a different style of seats, but it will give you an idea of how to go about installing seats in a Festy.

Yeah, one of the oddball cars I always wanted and finally found back in 2009 was a 79 Volvo 242 GT. I LOVE boxy coupes! I've had a 2 door Jetta and 2 VW Foxes. I've owned an 88 Dodge Aries coupe 5 speed. Very rare car. My first car was a 76 Audi Fox.

But anyway my 242 had ragged mildewed front seats. So I went Volvo seat hunting. And I found lots of good seats in 240s and 740s. ( None of them good looking.Cause hey,it's a Volvo.) but I soon had the realization that none of those seats would work because they were all in sedans and wagons. Therefore they would not fold forward to allow back seat access or exit. So before you get all worked up about finding some cool seats in an Aspire or Escort wagon just remember that it will all but eliminate the use of your back seat.

The seats I got from an Escort sedan work well and fold forward enough to allow good access to the rear seat. I used the cushions replaced onto the festy frames and the back bolts right on(as per someone's write up on this site). I added a fourth spring from another festy seat to the bracket already on the festy frame and it seems to raise the front part of the bottom up a little. I think the Escort seat back gives more incremental reclining adjustments than the festy backs but I'm not sure about that. I know my daughter, who is used to the stock seats in her car, always comments on the comfort of my seats when she rides with me. You do lose the foot pedal on the passenger's side, but I always kind of considered it a nuisance when it scooted the seat forward onto the junk I had in the floor.

What year was the escort sedan that the seats came out of?
