festy speed control

anyone done a factory speed control swap ?..or had one apart ?...im wondering if all festys have the wiring in them to do this...i found a setup in a boneyard and am wondering how much trouble itwould be,,,im not even sure if it works,,,any info would be cool...thanks

I gotta buy the whole column to get it thou, horse...they wont sell just the stalk and wiring part of it....its got grey interior and i have tan, so i would have to make the hole in the plastic column cover to fit the stalk...no biggie thou, as i would have the grey one for a pattern...... ques was, are the vehicles equipped with the harness pcs in place from ford or am i going to have to cut more connectors and stuff from the donor car to make this work ?....what would be a good price for the setup ?......this yard is a bit on the heavy side on pricing...but ive never seen one on a vehicle before...rare option.....this vehicle was used by a company as a runner / delivery veh, hence why it has speed control on it...is there a seperate wiring diagram / book from ford besides the wiring / vacuum book ?...i have that, just gotta find it.....

Thanks for the compliment! The cruise was dealer installed so the car did not have the wiring installed it all comes in the cruise control kit. (I have a complete one) You need to pull the wirirng and the switch on the pedals along with all the parts it attaches too. Don't forget the speed sensor on the trans where the cable attaches to. A good price should be under $75. Thats weird they won't let you pull the cruise without buying the steering column.

Oh and I am not sure if the wiring diagram is in the Ford book, it is in the insrutions for the cruise though.

naw, they dont do that...cause it screws up there sale on rest of column if they need to sell it to someone else...btw, are you sure about a dealer install ?...man, this unit looks total factory right down to the exact installation...everythings there including plastic vac tank...unless maybe its a factory ford dealer option install...yep, i saw the speed cables and sensor right to the trans....guess i would have to open up the dash and see the wiring and how it was installed...trace everything out and see what all parts are there and required...may be not worth the grief and aggravation thou...and have to see cost...like i said they are heavy on pricing...i got what i needed the other day off that car but it was one handful of screws, grille clips and misc,,,charged me 20.00 for what i thought was about 5.00 worth, but i got it all off one car and fixed everything on my sheen in one shot plus it was only 14 miles away...and i had to have a guy standing over me to watch what i took...ugh...

Yes it was a Ford dealer option, I have a couple set ups in the box still. Its made to look like it was there to begin with.
