I wonder if you could cut off the bottom of another festiva bumper then turn it upside down so it matches the bottom of the mounted bumper and.... eh probably not.

^ not for looks (at least for me), i was after more front end stability and cooling durring hard runs. i've NEVER had the engine get past 220*F, EVER. it also keeps more air going around the car instead of under it where it becomes more drag via turbulance. the next piece going on Scrappy is a belly tray with a drain and filter access door.Trees aren't kind to me...

^ Air going around the car instead of underneath helps with preventing lift (and that's why you get better front end stability). There's actually more front end wind resistance with a poorly designed front air dam since you are less aerodynamic. However, I do agree that a bottom tray would help minimize undercarriage drag.
So, how does the solid air dam help with engine cooling during hard turns?
Nice Scirocco by the way, I used to have an 87 Audi coupe quattro. Miss that car.Oscar

around instead of underneath is definately the way to go....i just pulled a 40 ft triple axle fifth wheel trailer up from indiana to michigan ...about 300 mi with my diesel dually...the whole underside of the trailer was aluminum sheeted from factory, so that all that was exposed to wind were the axles themselves,,,,trailer weighed 10000 lbs and had a rounded front nose on it...and ran 65 mph pretty much most of the way with some stints up to 75....trailer towed better at 75 than 65 and i only lost one MPG with it...also no wing on the truck...so im sure the sheeting underneath helped the mileage....how about a nice nascar style splitter on a festy ?1992 festy GL, loaded, stock, 79 K
