  • Help replacing heater/vent controls

I replaced the white speedo gauge cluster for an orange tach/speedo cluster. Now I want to replace the heater/vent controls to match. When I removed the controls from the donor car it was a pain in the $$@. Has anyone done this withoiut trying to smash the dash afterwards? Is there an easy way to do it? At least, what is the right way to do it? Thanks!

The dash cover can be removed in a hour or so.

So you need to remove the whole dash to replace the vent/heater controls that are above the radio?

I believe that you can remove the faceplate with the white lettering, and replace it with the Orange one. Easier than replacing the entire unit. I think it's glued on, and you have to gently peel it off, then just re-glue the new one in a few places so it stays put. Then put the fan and slider control knobs back on, and it's done.
If it has boobs or wheels, sooner or later you're going to have trouble with it.

^ I like that idea. Let me see if I can peel it off without messing it up.
