carbon fiber hood?

anyone know of carbon fiber hoods for the festiva? if not anyone intersted in getting a mold.

I think my buddy and I are going to try and make one for my car out of industrial (stronger) carbon fiber weave this winter... I'll keep you updated on our progress.. -Kyle

me and a friend were thinking about it. My friend has laid a lot of carbon fiber and is pretty good. a carbon fiber festiva does it get any lighter thatn that. well good luck, keep me posted on that project intersted to see how it turns out.

shit, keep me posted too if you don't mind! i want to get one of the fiberglass units from FMS, but if anyone has success in making a carbon fiber unit, that's even better! from what i understand, carbon fiber os both lighter and stronger than fiberglass. would be pretty cool, even if a raw black hood would look a little odd on a red car (hell, why paint it, it won't rust). if your endeavor turns out well, please inform!

I wonder how much it would cost to have mine duplicated in cf? Haven't looked into it yet.. Funny thing you said red car with black hood...

The festiva hoods are only like, 10 pounds. It seems like too much work. Plus, because the hood support rod is low on the side of the hood, it would bend the carbon hood all around. You might have to reinforce it with something. Just a thought.

I'd probably buy one it I could find it, actually.

Nice hood. A cf version would would be sweet. I'm taking this winter and making the steps to become a custom aftermarket part importer. My interest is to have my deigns made and imported. I do not expect things to move fast, but I'm determined to see what I can do. I am doing this as a part time business, selling to groups on boards and internet in order to afford my own automotive interests.
So, as I hurdle through the road blocks on the way, I'll certainly have a special interest in pursuing affordable upgrades for the Festiva.
