You could remove the map pockets and the GL upper interior door trim and send them to me.

I'd recommend Honda VX wheels (13" X 5"; around 9 pounds each) with Sumitomo 175/50-13 tires. Those'd be quite light, with some decent width/traction. There has been some question in some quarters over how safe 175/50-13s would be, but so far no one's told any horror stories, and plenty of folks have run them on Festivas, Rabbits and heavier. Just be warned that they could be unsafe, especially if you load up your car with weight.
Too bad Falken stopped making the 175/60-13s. Those were a perfect size.
As for the "main support beam" behind the dash, would that have any part in body rigidity and handling/response?

Sparco !
Found a great deal on a used sparco sprint seat
i didnt use any sliders, just used the festy mount pieces and some flat bar.
the seat came with sparco sliders as well but i didnt use them, mine turned out lighter than the sparco base!
now all my interior needs is a harness bar and its just about finished

You've still got a good couple pounds of sound deadening material on the front fire-wall!
What about some of the roof reinforcement under the head-liner?
What about cutting the space for the spare tire out completely? there's gotta be at least a couple pounds of metal there.
Swiss cheese the thing!!
What about removing all the unnecessary parts in the engine bay? Could you make do with a smaller more compact radiator?
Is there such thing a lightweight hoses? There's gotta be at least 5-10 pounds of hose all over the car.
Hrrrm... Excess wiring? Do you need all the lights to work?Last edited by Amos; 10-15-2009, 01:17 PM.
