My wife was convinced that the seats were too high that way ( she is 5'1'', and her feet were too far from the pedals), so I went to a BUNCH of trouble dropping them down 1 1/2" lower still using the stock seat bottoms. I cut off the mounts, ran a piece of bar steel across the rear from side to side bolting it to the stock locations from underneath instead of down on the ends, attaching the to the stock position at the seat belt mounts (with the manual seat belts, 88 & 89) then gusseted the front mounting points bolting them where the rivets were in the tracks from above.
Grant wheels work well in 12" & 12 1/2" , and you will love the difference. I change those out first thing in my cars. I suggest you go ahead and get the short billet adapter, and use the horn mount in the pic below. These mounts are trouble free.

I got pulled over in Westminster, SC in my Blue Dot (I had a 94 Ford Aspire in 2003-04, RIP Dot) for doing 48 in a 35. They pulled me over in front of the 45mph sign and because I had just evacuated my crazy ex's house I had everything I owned in the back. Woman cop, asks me if I have ANYTHING in the car to use as a weapon, and I said I had a hatchet in the spare tire compartment under all my stuff. She yelled at me to put my hands on the wheel, called for backup, and grabbed her holster, telling me not to move. Guy cop comes up, asks me the same questions, writes me a ticket for speeding even though technically I wasn't, and after all that, I was surprised they hadn't tried to arrest me for some crazy thing & impound my car!

I love the seats. I'm thinking about getting some Corbeau GTS-II's and sittin' them in the stock sliders too, then moddin' the rear seats to match.

BTW, my wife still wants to do one further Rally Style at some point. I started that direction with Curmudgeon back in '04 and added to Rasta in '05 some but without the graphics so far. She wants one with the works in a Kustom Kolor of green or orange. I suppose I will get there eventually.... We both liked this car, and it gave me the inspiration.
