You could re-route the wiring from the turn signals to the corner lamps, maybe?

It is illegal to turn your parking light into turn signals. By law I believe you are required to have parking lights. The parking light on a festiva can not be used for both purposes unless you have a set like the ones in the picture (they have two bulbs), because the festiva parking light is a single element bulb.

While I love my festiva and festivas in general, I am also a big fan of the taurus station wagon (first generation). It sounds to me like what you need is a taurus setup. I have no clue how they are wired cause I've never had to take any of mine apart *crossed fingers*. The deal on the taurus is the front grill looks like this with the blinker running:

Anytime the headlights (or just the parking lights) are turned on, both parking and turn signals are lit. When you turn on either blinker, the parking and turn signals blink on and off for that side, with the parking and turn signals alternating, so when parking light is lit, turn signal is off and vice versa. Very cool effect, and depending on the wiring harness used it could probably be adapted to alternate between the corner lights and front bumper mounted turn signals when the blinker is turned on. Dunno if that helps or not, but something to think on anyway.
          No festiva for me ATM...

That Taurus setup would be cool.

I wanted the same thing for my old Chevette. Camaros back then did "blinked" that way, but not Chevettes.

good news is, junkyards are full of the first gen tauruses (not sure if the later ones blinked that way or not... maybe second gen) and the harness shouldn't be too hard to get a hold of. I thought about doing the same thing, but I really want to try and forge a new headlight/grill assembly out of a late '90s jetta headlights and a custom grill someday.

                Turn Signal Mod

You can modify your park light to become a turn signal also. Check out this link: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...rkerflash.html which shows how to do the wiring. I did mine and its pretty simple. I'm sure it will work with the little 194 bulb in the corners, but I installed a 1157 bulb and socket in mine to make them brighter. When the park lights are off, both the corner and bumper light flash together when you turn on the signals. When the park lights are on, the corner and bumper light alternate when you turn on the signal. Looks cool 8)

DIY " parks into turns " was one of the first mods to my red GL.

                    Picture is circa 1993.

In my case, the Festiva park lamp assemblies were modified for an additional turn signal socket and bulb and a custom made wiring harness extension was added ( I chose not to splice into the factory wiring since I was still under warranty ).

Just one of a few ways you can do it.

They were a pair of 4" round driving lights in a aluminum sheetmetal housing. Clear molded Lexan covers.
