Now that the sale of my MX-3 is imminent and my Probe will also soon be gone I'm gaining steam towards my Festiva again. It'll be under the knife this spring. I'd like to get rid of the ugly stock 3rd brake light and cut/mold one above the rear window. I was thinking about using one from the Explorer/Mountaineer about 96-00 vintage. What do you guys think?

I always thought it would be cool to put one underneath the stock rear spoiler, using LEDs.

I bought an aftermarket one and mounted it inside at the top of the hatch. It has 8 or ten led's in it and works great. Still haven't removed the original one yet though but it is disconnected.
I'll get some photos up in the next week or so.

I removed mine from all 3 of my Festivas and never put another one back in, never been pulled over or had any problems without it.
The Kia Pride spoiler that's on my car now has a place for a 12" LED bar to go for the third brake light.Simon - pimptiva.comComment
