  • HID headlight set up.

ok well i found a HID retrofit service i have been talking to about getting some clear lenses made for the festiva. When i get my tax return im going to send him my lenses and may also have him do a full retofit. if there is any intrest we may be able to set up a group buy for hid projector head light set ups. the prices are a little high more then most on here may want to pay for head lights, but il take the leep and be the guinea pig. i was going to try and make my own clear lenses to use with Chris rumels old set up but its pretty exspensive to do the silicon mold stuff. here are some pictures of chris set up and the lenses which will be used for molding

You can get an HID set up that has both hi and low in the same bulb, CWS Tuning sells a pretty nice set of round style headlights for the festy too theyre a tad expensive though too but supposedly direct bolt in
It's not the size that counts....It's how you use it.

I know what you mean I sent a few emails to him a few times asking about stuff they had and never heard back so its a deffinite possibility, but if you figure something out with a decent set of HIDs Id be in for a set down the road

Cool a projector setup. Are they going to be H1 bulb in both? And how is the cut off going to be? euro with the up kick _/_/ or like US ellips kind of flat with a very slight rise on the pass side?

i have HID's in my festiva. just a 9004 bulb kit with 8000K bulbs (imported from china) and sock lenses. was direct fit with no modificatio and both high and low are extremely bright, i'm not sure if clear lenses are really necessary. only cost me 100 buck for it too through a local distributor.

Jason, there h4 sockets on the projector light so it will be that for the driving light and the high beam is just a xenon light which was bought as aftermarket fog lights. does that make senses? im not sure what you mean on the second question.

festivatuner, the set up i have i bought off of Chris rumel he basically took the back housing of the head light, welded a plate to it and add a Hella prjector and a aftermarket fog light. I may have a full retro fit done which will look more oem but its approx 500 for the full retrofit, it will look similar to chris set up but will have a backing, angel eyes, and be a clear sealed beam. so i may sell chris set up if i do the full retrofit

Yeah too bad they blind oncoming traffic and are illegal in the states, dont know about canadian law. Ask me if I have or have not vandalized cars for blinding me driving at night with improper lighting(xenon in halogen housing)

The cut off with the projectors is the way the light is. In the picture below you can see where there are two up kicks above the main line of light. most "euro" projectors are like that. Where the US ones is just a flat line. Those upkicks help light up the side of the road and signs. But a down side is passing someone and the light gets in thier mirror.

i see i learned something new!, jason the hella projectos have a center plate that blocks off the top part no other kick like the ones you showed, but im sure if we did a group buy for the retofits we could get that if wanted
