power mirror help

ok so i have some escort power mirrors and the festy wiring harness that goes to the lock, to the mirror, through the door andbody inside the car. the door harness is a 5 wire plug because of the 2 wires going to the lock, no problem ill just splice.

my p/w switch has power so thats not an issue, but i cant seem to get the wiring right. i cant get the mirrors to move at all. any ideas? harness came from a 90's and i have an 88 L. the car has the 3 wire pigtail behind both speakers

update: ok i cant seem to get any hit of electricity to the pigtails, only at the switch. a couple of wires at the switch get a little bit of elec. when i hit up or left but not down or right. but nothing at the pig tails

Check your Ignition On - If I remember right the wires are only hot when in ACC or RUN that are in the door

i did but it didnt make any difference

I know this sounds stupid but have you checked your fuse?

yeah it seems to be hooked up to the cigarette lighter fuse, but i checked all the fuses any way. but like i said, the switch has power going to and from it, just not to the pig tails

Is your switch wired correctly? - I would also verify the propper pins are making contact in the connector (probly behind the dash before it goes into the door) and while your verifying pins make sure the right wire transfers to the right wire (I know some harnesses switch colors at the disconnect plugs

do i have to use the escort switch or can i use the festiva switch? will the escort switch plug and play? thats the only thing i can see thats stopping the mirrors from working. does the switch fit in the switch hole good or does it need mods? what year(s) switch will work?

im up for any suggestions, because i simply cant get these mirrors to make a sound via the switch, but if i hit it with straight power from the battery it will work.
