ive been doing some brainstorming. on the grill of course.

so i went to get some supplies, to further look into these ideahs.

home depot- gutter guard mesh. i think it was like 1.20$ for a 3 foot strip? its big enough to fit in the grill il tell you that much. so i got too.

i might jsut do the whole bumper while im at it.

il post pics when i figure out exactly what i want.

any of you who's put the mesh in the grill noticed a decrease in cooling, cause i'm plannign on doing the mesh insert for the looks but also to hide a truck horn thats being installed from a wrecked kenworth

No,the mesh has not decreased any cooling, but I just woke up to ,10" of snow :lol:

yeah tell me about it! i woke up to like 3 inches of snow but from what i understand we are getting hit with alot more tonight.

to go the other direction, does this help HEAT up the car better at all, becuase I've just got stock grill with an ugly chunk of cardboard behind.

I'm sure you could customize it so that when winter came around you could double later it when winter came, and remove one piece when summer hit.

Yes a piece of cardboard does help it heat up and stay warmer in colder conditions , alot of people do that

Sorry, I was meaning the mesh. A person could simply double layer the mesh during the winter to help keep the cold air out, and then take one piece out during the summer, while still looking snazzy.

No ,it will not help, heat up ,(the mesh ) ,
If anything like I cut my grill up ,that took any restriction out of the way, If you can call it that ,The air will flow just fine thru the mesh ,maybe give it better cooling in the summer , without the center bar breaking the air in the middle ,giving it more even air from top to bottom on the radiator , It may not ?
I have not done any comparisons ,and for a stock motor you may not notice anything .

yeah I was thinking of that... I would throw in the angled oval slots and lose the ford badge... but to each his own... good luck with the grille customizing...
