  • Festiva Pickup

    Hi gang...

In 1990, I purchased a Festiva for long commutes from Oregon to Los Angeles. In 1995, I wanted to turn it into a little pickup. Medical issues caused me to sell it with the pickup job only begun.

Spin ahead to 2010. A guy comes up to me at a local auto show where my wife and I are showing off our 1955 Ford Sedan Delivery hot rod. He asks me if I would like to buy back the Festiva. It had been worked on quite extensive.

So, long story shortened, I bought it. All the parts are there and I'm now rubbing out the paint.

Thanks guys. More pix are coming up.

Just gave the final buff to the hood. The pearl white hasn't been rubbed out at all. That's gonna take a bit.

Refinished the bumpers today and as soon as the body metal is shiny I'll install them asap.

The Union Jack on the roof is a very cool idea.

Also, the wheels on lanemeyer14 look like Minilites. Very neat wheels. What size tires are you running.

And where do you race the eurotiva? Used to race SCCA and it is a hoot. Love to know more about how you set up the Festiva for competition.

              Again, thanks for comments.

My wife raced it at a few scca auto-x events, but these days I've been spending ALOT of time at the dragstrip. When we were running auto-x it was on stock suspension. Now it's lowered with festivamotorport springs and kyb shocks.

This is why I spend alot of time at the dragstrip..................................

They are Miata "daisy" wheels with the center painted bronze. The bolt pattern on them is 4x100 so you'd have to do the aspire swap in order to use them. Tire size is 185/60/14

What a hoot. I imagine the guys in the Mustangs were a little shell shocked. Is there a place on this Forum where you explain all the stuff you've done? I'd love to read about it.

BTW, Kumalaba... I meant to write "Trukstiva." My wife is trying to figure out how to turn that into a personalized license plate. We only have six letters to work with, tho.

Yeah I have fun with the mustang guys. In the forums section there a garage where everyone put's build info. I can't wait to see more pics of your car, and your lucky to have gotten it back. I'd give good money for my first mustang.

Thanks for the links. I'll go there after dinner.

Finally buffed out the hood (which was a wreck because the previous owner's son's dog was tied to the front bumper and the beast decided he liked jumping on the hood).

I'll post more pictures over the next couple of days.
