  • Repairing Door Panels

The cardboard on the back of the driver's door no longer holds those snap-in thingys that attach to the door, so part of the panel sticks out. Any ideas on how to repair/reinforce the panel?

    Regards,

    Tim

I've made custom door panels out of 1/8" fiberboard a few times before and it works very well.If you wanted to spend a little extra time you could cut out new panels and recover them(either with new vinyl or the old stuff). For a quick fix though I would use epoxy like suggested.

It should be easy - IIRC the vinyl's just stapled on.

what if youve got a panel so warped on one corner, the plastic snap wont hold it on? it stays in the cardboard, it just pops off the door itself...

you could always use screws to hold them one. if you take the time you can make it look pretty good and not so crapy

The clips should be easy to get from any body shop suplly store of even a good day at the junk yard should yield some good result because those clips are common on a couple other cars.
