  • My custom door panels

hey i wanted to take my stock door panels and make them awsome. so i did

well i started buy cutting cardboard out to the to the size i wanted. after i got the pattern out the way i like i streched fleece over it and stapled it down

I then pourd resin on the entire thing and spread it out with a paint brush.

once it was dry i spread bondo on it to smooth it out till it was perfect

after it was all smooth i painted them black and did some airbrushig on them

while i was doing all this fiberglassing i decided to do a center speaker box

and then i cleared it all to finish the job

    what you guys think?

            me too

I also need some custom door panels. I will bookmark this thread and post to it sometime next year. I am eliminating the window crank and want the pattern to match the long arm rests. I also want the inlay to be red stiched black leather along with door speaker grilles of course. I like the fact that you did it yourself. Does anyone know if you could just use contact cement to glue the leather down on the pressboard? How would you imprint pattern lines? Heat?

You know, That console CJ subwoofer I saw on the Bay would probably fit perfectly where you put it in the storage area. But then I wouldn't have a spot for my box of Kleenex. Maybe I could just use my sleeve instead.

Very nice work... I'd love to redo them in a red-interior-style fabric myself. Even the sheet metal look is attractive to me. Oh the possibilities!

                      google search

I did a Google search for "custom door panels" and this is one of the default images. It sure looks like a Festiva to me.

                          you are right

                          They are slightly different.

How about the flexible map pockets instead of hard ones?

Shop used cars for sale by participating dealers; research and compare different makes, models, prices and find local dealers throughout the United States.

Now this red stitching is close to what I am after.

I need to match my Tib seats.
I wonder if they could cover my Kia Pride armrest in black leather just like it.

This is a Miata door grip:

Not bad! Dont look like they hold much, but its better than what I got.
                            No door pockets

                            That red stitch is rad!
