That was indeed an excellent write up and this is a very valuable thread!
Thanks to all for sharing your experience. It truly helps those of us who are in the beginning stages of Festification. (WOW, sounds illegal, doesn't it). So.... if you own 2 Festivas, do you have a pair of Festicles? LOL

^ I guess the seat swap threads aren't easy for the newbies to find. Maybe one should be stickied or something.

Yeah I thought about that. May also be useful if I decide to "pimp my ride" and do some seat piercings. LOL

            same hole

I always have two sets of covers. I wash them in the washing machine and when I reinstall a set, I hogring using the original holes. You can't even tell that they were off in the first place. Many of the new cars now use "foam in place" technology. They inject the urethane foam so that it bonds to the plastic on the the back of the fabric. You can never remove them for cleaning. You must steam clean them in place.
It's kind of like plastic healight lenses that go cloudy from road dust until you can hardly get any light out of them. It better than glass because it's "cheaper to make".

But what about the search feature not giving anything for "seat swap"?

A lot of flack is given but the search function is funct.

                Oh so true...

I can rarely find anything using the search tool and if I do its because I spend hours digging through posts. Seems to me like an almost useless tool in its current condition. As a guest or newbie to the site this can be really frustrating and then to be called out for it when you "did" use the search tool.

                  search

I set the search to "titles only" for keyword "seats" and had no problem finding a lot of great posts about custom seat installs/swaps. The default is "search entire posts", which is not what you want. You only want to search for anything that has the keyword "seats" in the titile of the post. Try it for yourself.
I even found my thread about installing Tiburon red-stitched black leather seats.

You have to use the advanced search form.
If you type in keyword "seat swap" in quotes and then search titles only, you only get nine posts.

Without quotes, you will get eleven posts.
Without "titles only" or quotes, you will get every occurrence of the word "seat" and "swap" in every post and every forum.

Maybe the defaults should be reset so the quick search is more defined. It would also help to have a "search tool" sticky at the top of every forum. This can be very confusing if you haven't any experience with this forum or other forums for that matter. We "as a community" should also be less abraisive towards new comers regarding this. There is a learning curve; I speak from experience.
