  • Front Lightbar?

    Hi everyone,

I am wanting to look at getting a lightbar for my 121 Metro. I've attached a couple of pics of the front of the car. I have a set of Hella FF 4000's I'd love to mount as I do alot of nightime driving through windy country roads. Love to get some ideas and suggestions of how to approach it. I have seen some lightbars that are mounting behind the number plate (look ok), but can't see them being too stable and subject to vibration and movement etc. A penny for your thoughts

Would be good to know how to put a larger picture in the post... I've seen other posts with massive pictures.. the pic I uploaded was 1024x768.

As far as a light bar is concerned, you would be better off showing a picture of your disassembled front end. That's where the bar would have to mount to support the lights. Looking at your Metro's exterior is not too helpful, since our Festivas and Aspires may be quite different underneath.

IMO, the best thing for you to do is to take your front grille and fascia parts off and see where and how you would mount it, and what size tubing or angled metal strips would work best. Also, perhaps a "bar" is not the best way to do it, and individual mounts are the best way to go.

First, figure out if you want them low or high, and if you are still going with a "bar," then do you want anything else to fit on that bar?

One more consideration is the type of lights you have. Both pencil, both wide angle, or mixed pair? (I looked up your lights and read a bit about them. Expensive!)

Yes they do. They are Mini specific though. And they shake like crazy.

Maybe cut off the wide ends because of curbs? and extend the down tubes underneath to the crash bumper, might shake too much though. Likin' those lights though. Nice Job

personal opinion but when i see light bars on the other side of the road the seem more like targets. got a bunch of jerks around my way that like to flash them as you drive by...
