  • What would you pay for clear turn signals?

Right now I'm communicating with "my man in China." He moved there from Ohio. He and another associate wish to start a business and they need "product." I'm trying to help them get started and also get us some goodies.

There is the possibility of testing the import system with 10 units (five pairs) of clear turn signal lenses (I think the bulb holder and pigtail comes with them, but I'm not sure).

Right now all else is unknown! Unknown quality; unknown costs; unknown whatever. Minimum order is 10 pieces, which sounds like a good test run. If this does happen, I'm assuming there will be some initial risk. I'm willing to risk a bit, but risk needs to be ascertained and controlled. This post is merely the first step.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD is that I have a simple question we need answered to assess whether or not this is practical and get started:

*How much would you pay for a pair of clear turn signal lenses that are made in China?*

Let's say, in the next four to six months. What's it worth to interested Festiva owners?

I just need an accurate price point to work with.

If this happens and all works out well, we could be seeing other goodies this summer. That's the theory.

If you don't think clear turn signal lenses (with or without the bulb holder parts) are viable, then say so. Otherwise, state a price point, with shipping.

    Post away!

    Thanks,

    Karl

If turn signals are a definate stepping stone to open up to what everyone else is treated to in other countries then yes, even if the price is 2x what any old honda part is.

Clear like clear of a modern car or diffused clear?
Bumper signals or the corners as well?
$40- $50 shipped at most if the look makes a real improvement.

Things made in China are way cheap to make. $20 for clear turn signal lenses would be about a 400% profit. Corner lights $50 for the pair.

Okay, right now I'm only talking about the rectangular turn signals mounted in our front bumpers. I posted about them because they should be inexpensive and the minimum order was listed at "10," making this a comparitively small risk. No way would I start with risking $50 to $100 per part orders! That's why I chose this part.

I see that the best B2200 prices are $25 shipped for just the clear lenses and $31 shipped for the whole light assembly.

Two ways to look at this right now:

If these were to be sold for profit, they would have to beat the above prices by at least 4-5 dollars and be of acceptable, preferably equal (or better), quality.

If we look at this as simply a "system test" to check viability of bringing in other, more desirable parts, then perhaps the prices would just have to match the ebay parts.

If you want to talk about your ideas on this aspect, feel free. In the meantime, I haven't heard back from my guy yet so right now this is all I have. I will also investigate the possibility of a "sample order" of one or two pieces shipped here to check for quaility, fitment, etc. I think that if a company wants to sell, it should put out a sample or two at a reasonable cost to encourage more business! But they may not see it that way.

With any luck, we can help "open up a trade route" to get us some cool parts and help get their business started. I'll be tapping ya'll for more ideas in the future if this begins taking shape.

There is still the possibility that nothing will happen though.
