  • sun roof

Okay to those of us in the festy world that have already put a sun or moon roof in your car, did you have to take the head liner out to install it?

Im going to look for a nice one tomorrow but I will wait till spring if I have to mess to much with the head liner. im sure I will bust that thin liner.

no.. the template cut is good for both the roof and headliner.. the trim covers about 3/4" over the template edge.

      electric

I think im going to mount a electric sunroof in, so I will have to probably remove the headliner anyways for the motor, I will see when I get there, im sick now, so will have to wait till next week.

i really wish i had a moon roof. I'm not really a fan of sunroofs, they just seem to get my ears sun burned unless they are uber tinted and that kinda defeats the purpose...

I've thought about dual sunroofs, too. Or is that "sunrooves?"

If you have a lot of back seat passengers, it might be nice. Otherwise it may be a waste of energy.

I would prolly keep it cooler it the hot summer if you don't have A/C,I think it would be cool, or even a long one down the center like the maxima ? but if you was going to go to all that you may as well put a funtop in ,Dare to be different !!

Anyone ever seen a Festy with T-Tops? I thought about it awhile back, but am pretty much afraid to do it, as I might jack it up, then I'll have to make it a convertible or go for a Targa top look, which would also look kinda cool. Would have to get custom glass though, and that in itself might cost more than the car!

What about something like t-tops on vettes or trans ams? or a removable hard top like on delsol's? Ive thought about having most of he roof just glass slightly tinted or having a piece thats removable but then the thought of theft crossed my mind.

I've done 2 Hollywood tops in my time.. 1 in a van and another in a dually..
They look sharp, but can have body flex problems which usually leads to leaks.. let alone the theft problems..

I sure miss my sunroof on my first festiva sunsport. I thought about putting one on the aspire but I guess with roof rack coming probably wouldn't be a good idea.. unless I get one that slide back into the roof liner have to look into it.

i have always wanted to like cut a majority of the roof out and make it all glass. that would be pretty cool. not too good though becuase where i live there are lots of hail storms.
