  • chop top festiva?

Hello this is my first post. I know people are doing the truck-festiva and that other convertible type mod but i was wondering if there is actually enough head room to chop the top of the car and lower the roof line, do you think it's possible or a good idea?
looking for a ford festiva 1990 or up in central Pennsylvania, PM me, thanks

Festivas have plenty of head room for most folks. I would guess that you could chop one or two inches off the top with no problems if you are no more than about six feet tall.

I'm not a big fan of this mod, but I wouldn't mind seeing one well done.

well im still in high school so i dont know how much im still going to grow, right now im pretty short(5'5) to be exact. I just wanted to see how much smaller i could get the festiva to look.

I would think if you are creative and skilled you could take a BIG chunk out. If you've ever driven with the seat reclined a bit, there's tons of headroom. Might not make the most comfy car, but hey - its something different!

also remember that the front seats are practically on stilts. i did a photoshop of my car with a pretty major top chop, it's posted on my website, if anyone is curious to what it would look like.

is that photo shopped or is that the finished project?

both A and C pillars are leaned in, it would require custom glass all over. the wheels are $200 Sears specials, model 44 I think (maybe 41?) if you try to purchase them, you'll be told that they won't fit/ wont clear the calipers, but they do with lots of room to spare. one problem though, they don't come with hubcentric rings  not a deal breaker in my book, i just slapped them on anyway. I'll get rings soon.

could you do another pic with the a pillar leaned back and the stock c pillar angle? i like the a pillar being leaned back, and that would avoid an expensive custom windshield, but i'd love to see it with the stock angle c pillar.

here you go, it's the best i could do on short notice. i also added 16" wheels, dropped it another inch, tinted the front about 35%, and extended the lower rocker panels and rear bumper.

Now just edit the car out of the background and put it in the middle of a huge car show pic like HIN's or something of the sort, it would fit right in!!!
