  • Faded Bumpers/trim

Found a product to restore bumpers & trin - BONDO-RESTORE BLACK. Its a gel dye the works very well. Was gonna paint my bumpers black, but being lazy I searched for another way. This is fairly easy, comes with a sponge applicator. Just wipe on, may;probly will; need more than 1 application. I used 3 coats. Pics when I get my comp. back up & brunning. My PS3 won't let my load my camera.
If it don't fit, use a bigger hammer!

I have used that product also. It worked well and I would recommend it. It was easier than taping everything off and spray painting it. Here are my before and after pics.

I tried Back to Black. Didn't work on my bumpers. I was sceplical on the Bondo product, but I'm too lazy too paint. It worked. And yes that is a beautiful red festy Neander.

You can find a detailed how-to on using the spray paint/dye in my build thread link below. I had fantastic results with the stuff! Page one for bumpers; page three for side trim.

Thanks nav. I put a coat on, it looked good, it soaked it up in a few moments. It then looked dryagain. It took about 3 applications to rehydrated the bumper. Once it did it popped like new! The front bumper took just one coat.

What store are you guys finding the Bondo-Restore Black. I went to Pep Boys, and Auto Zone and all I can find is the Mother's Brand. Is it just as good as Bondo? How long does this stuff last before you have to re-apply it?

If you don't have a Wal-Mart handy you can buy it on Amazon here:

The Amazon page also said you could buy it direct from AceHardwareOutlet.

FYI, the reviews on Amazon said this stuff kept bumpers black for several years. Can't wait to try it!
