hmmm... looks like they stuck a plastic lip on the front of their hood, then got too close to a heat lamp and it melted and drooped... not really a fan lol, but to each his own I see this one a lot of euro cars around here. But I also see a lot of 2 year old beamers with completely rusted hoods, soooo....
        No festiva for me ATM...

That one looks sweet! Aggressive, not overdone imo. That give me some ideas. Very nice. The first one I'm not so keen on, it looks overdone to me.

btw Lane, flippin through your album there, those BMW 3 series headlights look sweet on the j/y Festi. I'd love to see em on one all done up. That could have serious potential!

Almost looks like a subaru front end with the open grille

I really like what the vw crowd does with their mk1 rabbits/caddys....love the single and dual round headlights, boser hoods, eyebrows, etc. That would all translate well to the festiva I believe

I like the look of the one Lane posted. It should give some aerodynamic advantage, but then the smoothed, boundary layer air flow hits that White Cliffs of Dover scoop and any gains are lost!

Kinda like a marathon runner eating very carefully up until the day of the big race, watching every calorie and drinking plenty of water. Then an hour before the race he eats four big bowls of chili, a gallon of root beer and a half a chocolate cake for dessert.

But as long as the car owner is just out for looks, and the marathon runner is a masochist who loves throwing up before he passes the second mile, it's all good!

That 4 bowls of chili could be the extra GAS needed to get over the hills!

hahaha but the white cliffs of dover may tie right into the air intake and provide some serious cold air flow, or perhaps a tmic!

                            If you need cool air...

The pic below is from here:

RevLimiter.net - carbon fiber NACA duct inlet used to feed a Miata intake. Installed in the popup headlight lid.

Yes, a scoop may be better at collecting a lot of air, but you should determine first how much cool air you need. A true "ram air" system is not supposed to make much of a difference until you get to very high speeds: 100 mph or better, IIRC.

Not only is a NACA duct "low profile" aerodynamically, it is also "low profile" aesthetically. How much attention do you want from various groups?
