My first car had mold in the underlay and I just replaced it with generic sheets of auto carpet underlay.

I though about doing a bedliner type deal on my car but I dont think it would turn out that good.

          Carpet

I just did my carpet. And no it didn't have the foam. It was molded to fit the floor pan contours. Looks & smells much better.
If it don't fit, use a bigger hammer!

You can get carpet foam rubber padding cheaply at the big-box hardware stores, in various thicknesses.

I bought a carpet from another member and have yet to install it.
As you can see no holes for the shifter, console, brake or seat studs have been punched out. Also the fiber sound deadener needs to be sprayed with adhesive and reattached.

It is extremely important that water never get under this carpet, otherwise the floorpan will eventually rust through. Manufacturers hate when you bring home a new vehicle and promptly remove the carpeting. I always insist on removing the scuff plate and lifting the carpet slightly to check for dampness and rust, whenever I buy any used vehicle.

It's been a year and a half since I got it from another member. I don't know where he got it. It's black. I can peel any foam off the old carpet and just stick it to the bottom of the new one. Yes, the cargo carpet comes with it.

Thanks for the info! Just don't want to be dissapointed after paying 140$ for carpet. Now I gotta figure out what color I want..... I have a tan interior now but I'm putting in black front buckets and having the rear split seat re-uplustered to match and I was thinking of doing black carpet too.

A while back FestivaGTX was selling a complete black carpet kit for less than that shipped. I would check with him, he may still have it.

Some do , some don't. Call or e mail before you buy.

I am going to have to cut the velcro flap off of the old grey factory GL carpet I have now and have it dyed black before sewing it on the new carpet to hide the left side steel console support. Thank goodness for old proprietors in shoe repair shops with heavy duty sewing machines and nothing much to do all day.

Upholstery shops have the same heavy duty sewing machines. My Dad has one in the garage, too. Well, he does upholstery.
