    Stripped Shifter

    I got a great new custom shift knob today and its just the right size BUT the threads on the actual shifter are stripped. Apparently the old shift knob has enough give that it will go on fine but not the new one. I can see the thread causing the problem but not sure what to do now.

    Any ideas?
