So I recently picked up the Taurus cup holder to install into my festy. I thought I've seen pics of people putting it in the radio slot and in the top of the bin. I believe you needed the LX console to put the cup holder in the bin. Is that true? Does anyone know what mods need to be done to make it fit in the bin rather than the radio slot. Or is there a thread on this I've searched and can't find one.

Put it in the radio spot... In order to get it to fit in the LX console, you need to take the cubby off the back and pretty much cut the whole thing in order to get the cup holder to fit. I have it in the cubby right now and I hate it, it's at an angle, and all I can fit in there is a 12oz pop because everything else hits the radio. I so want to just put the cup holder in the radio slot, and the radio in the cubby, since I already have the cubby cut up.-Josh R

Single DIN is where the radio is now. I wish it were a double DINLast edited by bravekozak; 03-20-2011, 12:30 PM.

I'm pretty sure there is another swap (might still be the escort, or maybe protege?) but it's almost the exact same as the escort but has deeper cup holders. I have the escort center console as well going into my blue festy but I agree the cupholders are almost worthless since I usually only drink water and the occasional polar pop! (32 oz fountain drink)
Anyway I suppose I'll have to think about it. I really don't want to relocate my radio but I must agree it looks better with the radio down there and the cup holders up top. Fortunately I have two of the LX double din pieces so one I can cut up and the other can remain stock in case I don't like it! The extra one is pretty useless without the rest of the lx console haha.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am going to install a Mini cup holder in my Festiva. I like my drinks big with lots of ice and I don't want it to fall out when I go around a corner.

I need to figure out a cup holder also. I had a woman pull out in front of me today and my large sweet tea that was between my legs, hit the floor. I was mad to say the least.Rick
