  • My Aspire's $50 Jazz Blue Paint Job

    My car is a little dirty, but I wanted to take some pics of my $50 paint job.

    It's custom-mixed Jazz Blue "Rustoleum Wannabe" from Ace Hardware.

    I flattened it because I didn't do any body work before hand besides simple prep (gloss paint & dark colors show more imperfections; flat paint can actually hide imperfections & dents).

    The car is a parts-chaser for my business, so I wasn't looking for anything show quality (it's not). I just wanted a "20/20 car" (meaning looks good at "20" mph or "20" feet away)
    ....just needed something quick, cheap, easy, relatively unique looking & very easy to repair (I hit all of these goals).

    I'd say that's a definite upgrade.

      Well done....sometimes a 50 dollar paint job is the best upgrade a vehicle can receive.

            It may be more a matter of taste, but I prefer the "Jazz Blue." I really like flat finishes though. I also don't like those "used car dealer stripe packages" that seem to appear on cars when they get sold to the emporia in question.

            Good job!

              It does in the pics...but it wasn't in person.

              The camera doesn't pic up the scratches, fading, discoloring & peeling up of clear coat.

              Besides, it looked like a freakin' Pontiac everytime I walked up to it.

                            That's my anti-theft device. I install it when I have to drive downtown......thieves take one look at it & just move on to the next car.

                              Firefly=Suzuki
                              Lemans=Daewoo

                              Don't get me wrong, Daewoo makes awesome forklifts.
