One of the best appearance mods imo. Here, front window tint of any percentage is apparently illegal, although many have some tint so I'm not sure how much you can get away with.

my roomates festy is all 5% tint and the previous owner (biglay5150) got a 200$ ticket for it so thats why i decided to go a little lighter on the front windows, im gunna have the hatch window done with 35% so at least thats legal lol an it does make the car look 10 times better!

Especially on a white car. The one I'm doing for my buddy is white with tint (although it needs to be redone). I hadn't seen it until it was delivered to me (got a deal on it and the towing). When I got it I was thinking, man this looks way better than my old Festiva. It was the tint!

where did you get the tint? I want to do this to mine as well, I figure while I'm tearing everything out of my car I might as well do this too!

o'rileys auto parts, its gila brand tint. u will need 1 roll for the rear an one roll for the front! its kina a pain and is easyer to do with 2 people (seperating the tint from the clear plastic is a pain!)

That's because Gila is the worst tint, it's to thin and it is easy to crease!

Nice. On another car try doing the lightest you can for the windshield, and medium in the back, with light on the front windows. It looks dark until you are on top of the car. It still really keeps the heat out, and the glare driving is gone.

Michigan allows any tint for rear window and rear side windows, and 35% for front 2 and windshield, except the top 4", but requires 2 side mirrors if the back is tinted.

In Ontario the back 3 windows can be as dark as you want and the front I think is supposed to be 35%, not like I care though, I plan on tinting my car 2.5% on the back 3 windows and 5% on the fronts

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I'm thinking since I don't feel like doing it myself (I hate separating the tint) I'll get a pro shop to do it all the way around sometime this summer to keep down the heat

from what i remember from this subject being brought up about a year ago, when it was searched, NO state allows ANY kind of tint on the winshield below the AS-1 line (which sits about 3-4" from the top of the glass). tinting your windshield is just a bad idea anyway, i've seen the results and your forward vision is out of focus at best and night vision doesn't exist.
