ooh No its FAR from done, lots of patching, sealing and body work to do, and i still have to figure out a tailgate type thing, I'm thinking one of those cool net things? i dont know, ill post some more pics tomorrow in the day light while I'm doing some bodywork. thanks

do you think it would be possible to use to bottom half of the hatch? Trim it up, patch it up, make it look good, and put some hinges on the bottom.
Ha, here's a brainwave. it's probably impossible and no one will understand it but i'll write it anyway!
The back seat is kept in my clips at slip on J hooks right? If you get the clips out of the seat, and the J hooks off.... Then you could weld the J hook to the inside of the cargo box, and weld the clip to the gate, then it'd open and close like the car seat. Just lift up the two little do dads and pull!
I'll draw a picture to better explain it.

that's actually an excellent idea, i know exactly what your talking about, but I'm looking to turn the bottom part of the hatch and make it open like the tailgate on those new Honda Ridge-lines
i kinda like that, what do u think?
Thanks

that'd be very slick! you could just have the one side on hinges, and have the clip and J hook on other side. That would look really cool; opening from one side. and it would probably be easier that way as well.

I would make the back window smaller... big glass = more chance of broken window in a truck...
