  • Delayed wiper help

So I bought a Festiva delayed wiper from Gomez, it works perfect, but the delay is almost none! So today I went to a local JY and pulled a 626 delay wiper that has adjustable delay. Easy install, but same thing, still super fast delay no matter where in INT placed. Can anyone help with slowing down the wait time?

You grabbed the control that the stalk is connected to....right?

You can also take the whole assembly and put it back on your column. Maybe an unseen short.

I purchased an wiper delay stalk from a member and found a comment about flipping the wires 180 degrees. That is not completely correct, you have to flip the plug 180 but if you think about the wires in the plug that rotation is not a complete reverse of the wiring. As you rotate, what was the bottom left becomes the upper right. Mine works perfectly using this method, something to think about.

Well I tried the 180 plug trick and it just blew the fuse. Didn't work for me. I installed a new 15amp fuse and put the plug back the correct way, now the delay is more like 1 thousand 1 and than goes. Don't know why it helped slow it down just a tad?? I'm going to pick up a 2nd 626 delayed wiper and take it apart and try to put a larger resistor to slow down the delay.
