^ I second that motion! Dustin knows my weakness for Loves, Pilot, TA. I was born to be a trucker, love the open road, love the highways of America and love truck stop shopping malls. I just can't wait to (sing it Willie) get back on the road again. Unfortunately I'm a horrible trailer driver. I usually try to drive trailers that I can pick up and wheel around where I want them. My mind is meant for going 150 mph forward. Slow speed depth perception stuff scares the crap out of me. Hate driving forklifts too (though I have to do it all the time at work). Ever since I was a kid I've lived by the motto, "when in doubt, GAS IT!" and that tends to get messy with trailers and forklifts.
Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Driving is my passion, as it was for the people who invented the automobile, the people who paved the first roads and the people who continue to improve the automobile. Please respect this passion.

Was it from too heavy a load? I worked at a place that had this ancient Massey Ferguson skid steer fork lift, what a death trap. It was very finicky and I came really close to rolling it a bunch of times.

forklift tips are in slow motion you can often jump out to safety. Now golf carts on the other hand, you get hurt pretty much every time. Most people don't drink when operating a forklift. Golf carts, another story. Peple out here modify them with big atv tires and add 'dem huge ice chest holders. Not hard to connect the dots...oh yeah most of the owners do not or cannot golf. It's just to putt around the neighborhoods or take them to the desert to run over some endangerd species so the real offroad enthusiasts cannot be enthusiasts anymore. Last detour i promise.

When I worked for BASF, I was given a new forklift to use in replacement of the wobbly old banger I was using. The new Clark was easily much faster as well as about 20% larger. To keep from long explanations, the place was dirty, with a fine powder that felt like water running through your fingers. I kept the pedal down all the time, and one rainy day, the floor became SLICK. That was the one and only time I've ever drifted a forklift. I was supposed to cruise around the corner at a gentle speed. What happened was the introduction of water to silica-laced powder. I hit the patch at an angle and it slid me towards the outside wall. I countered and hit the gas as hard as I could, and next thing I know, I'm drifting (horribly) into the next room! I had to sit down after that one...

I used to drift forklifts and skid steers intentionally. It's fun when you know how to do it and what to expect.

Wheel came today and the rim is metal. Stuck some rare earths to it, and they were in love.

The hardware it comes with and the packaging however, jumps right past annoyingly bad and stupidly bad and lands hard on amusingly bad. The horn button doesn't even fit in the "vanity" ring or the center of the wheel, and all the screws came out and all but 4 are gone. There was no cushioning at all.

Still, worth it. It's solid and just a hair smaller than the stock wheel. Perfect.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

I used the Grant 3597 adapter, which is necessary to mount the Grant. All in all, I think it cost me about $45 to put it on.

When it's in. It's more involved than most Since there isn't an adapter that will work for the 3rd gen escort that does what I need, I'll be hacking up the stock wheel to make one.

Where did you get yours? Found this one on eBay, but it's 70 bucks with no adapter.

I found a nice Momo steering wheel that I like on eBay Italy. I wish they made it for a Mazda.
