ambient temp sensor install with pics

ive been meaning to get an ambient temp sensor to put in from of my intercooler for a while to see how well my new setup is working. i finally got around to ordering this one off of amazon for $30... seemed pricey but it had good reviews unlike some of the others ive seen for cheaper.

mounted up all pretty like



i routed the wiring across the dash and into the drivers side fender well through the grommet with the main harness. i looped it around all my i/c piping and placed it right in front of my new 135db horn (the little chrome grill)>:]

What exactly does the sensor measure the temp. Of? Sorry for the dumb question, just curious

^The air outside or more specifically right in front of his i/c. Just like more expensive cars that have the display in the rear view mirror or in the cluster with the odometer etc.
