  • Clothed upper part of the door?

Pretty simple question: The top part of my door (right above the door card) is clothed, how rare is that? I haven't seen another Festiva with it in the Junkyard.
    Current cars:

1993 Ford Festiva 5-Speed - Festiclese III - Cousin of the Banhammer - "The Jalopnik Car"
    1984 Toyota Cressida - 2JZGE Swap, Turbocharged.
2013 Mazda Mazda2 - Exhaust and Wheels (the daily)
    2002 Toyota Tundra - V6/Auto/2WD - The Tow Vehicle.

I believe it only came in lx's. I'm probably wrong thou, I'm sure someone will correct me shortly.

Clothed or vinyl? Clothed would be rare

I'd love to figure out how to reproduce the look, it probably wouldn't be to hard.

Either use thick vinyl or create a laminate with additional padding glued under the vinyl you use.

I've never taken any off a car because I was afraid of tearing it.

My GL has it but none of my other cars (all Ls) does.

Also, in case anyone didn't know, the lock knob surrounds are slightly different between the padded and plain steel tops to account for the additional thickness of the vinyl. So pull the knob surrounds too and/or get the type you will need based upon that.

What I'd like to see (and may do!) is to use actual CLOTH on my door tops. That would be kinda nice. They would also tend to absorb water if it rains with the window cracked open!

i have been lucky enough to remove a pair form a junkyard car without ripping them which is very hard . they make the interior look so much better imo

Both of my of LXs (88s with A/C) and my only GL (a 90 with A/C and P/S) have it. None of my other Festies (all of which I think are just plain vanilla Ls) have it.
