Okay. I have Hertz speakers, would not want to block them. I know picky, picky. Think I spelled that correct.

The speakers are still in where they should be, just modified the plastic cover.

Thats nice, i've seen them on e-bay. I have great speecers in those spots. I wonder if the cup holders are small enough to mount above the speakers & below the vent. Still want the Protege one , with the door to mount in cuby.

Yup the cup holders themselves you can find online for very cheap. You can mount them pretty much anywhere but I wanted mine to be out of the way & not look too tacky & aftermarket.

I took off my speaker cover, heated it then bent it so that the mounting surface was straight but I could continue to use the plastic clips that hold the top of the cover in originally, they are pretty tight and sturdy.

After painting the cup holder grey, i used 6 small screws through the holes in the cup holder, through in the speaker cover.

I can get closer up photos if you're interested.

i got bored today and was thinking outside the box for this one... 3 options

1, good for cans and short drinks, but if i put a 32 oz in there it hits the dash

2, good all around but a little close to the leg

3, it works really well i think, still a little close to the leg but it doesnt crush the cup

hopes this gets others to thinking, my idea came from my s10 doors that had a spot for a small drink in the door

I bought a '92 Festy last winter and it had a water bottle in a cup holder behind the e-brake. Turns out it's the receptacle for the ashtray. Works good enough!

im going to build one in my glove box panel by cutting a huge hole in it big enough to hold a big gulp cup & when you open the glove box you set the drink in it & im getting one of those portable ice makers to run off of a invertor & the glove box will be my ice box!! :laughing5:
