VIN on the glass

I traded out my glass from another car and afterwards realized that each piece of glass had the donor cars VIN etched on them.. anyone else have that?

I saw somewhere that some insurance companies will do that for their customers. It helps aid in the tracking of stolen parts if your car was stolen.
