  • another cup holder option?

so i was looking through a volkswagen website for my vw, and i came across this cup holder, on the volkswagens it slides into the ashtray area, i feel it would fit great in our cars and wouldnt involve any cutting or fabricating, i personally dont smoke so it wouldnt be anything to keep it in all the time... anyway, on to the pic

its 28 bucks and here is the link

Check out the deal on 1958-1967 VW Beetle Cup Holder - Plug N Chug at JBugs.com

or if someone could take the idea and make it fit our cars

Thats cool! Are you gonna try one? If you do let us know how it works out/fits.
If it don't fit, use a bigger hammer!

I know about tight money;i'm retired. Thats why I ask about a report. I would like one, but need to know if it fits before I put out the cash. I'm tryin' to spend only the money I need too on 'Tiva now. Still need to replace drivers side cv & I only bought 1 Aspire rear strut. A little at a time.:angel10:

I'd get a spare Festiva ashtray (which does fit) and bolt or screw some cheap cupholder design onto that. Make sure everything clears the controls and shifter, and there ya go.

But without the ashtray I will have nowhere to put my MP3 player? lol Looks like a neat idea, hopefully someone can confirm or deny.
              No festiva for me ATM...
