Quick hitch?

I found a hitch for $8 at Lowe's. It is a bumper hitch, class II. If you haven't seen my trailer, it looks like this one:

That's all I'll pull with the car. If I were to have one welded to my rear bumper, would that be sufficient to pull a maximum of 600lbs?

You should check the condition of your rear bumper beam.

RIGID up here in MN makes an actual hitch for the festiva. I posted up a part # some years back.

I gues i should say they used to... that was probably nearing 5 years ago who knows now

If the beam is good, what do you think? I've thought about adding some steel between the hitch and the body to keep the bumper from pulling out. The Uhaul hitch is $187, the Curt hitch is $100 on the cheap end, and a $8 hitch welded to the bumper or something close seems to me to be a reasonable choice since I'd only be using this small trailer. That is, if the beam is good...
