Escort console Auto trans

I got this when I got my BP engine. It was a manual console so I used the boot and cut it leaving 2 layers. I then tucked it under itself. It looks ok.
I cut out for the belts too. After all that my coffee cup did not fit. I made this adaptor to fit in the cup hole. It was a hanging off the door style commonly seen. I screwed it to the adaptor. It holds well. I used the bottom of another cup but a spray paint can top will work.

Made me think....I wonder if an Escort auto console would fit? Might be able to hook it up to work right also.
You know the black cup "insert" will pull out of the console to fit bigger cups, right? :p

The cup holders black insert comes out but still to small in diameter to fit my SS Starbucks mug. I had to make the adaptor.

I would like to see an auto console to check out the differences.

Auto and manual consoles are out of mid 90's Escorts. 94-96 for sure and maybe a year or 2 on either side of those. Mazda Protege's of those years have the same console, but with hidden slide out cup holders where the big space is in front of cup holders on the Escorts. A bit bigger than the copholders on the Escorts.
Dont know if they'll fit your SS Starbucks mug, though! :p
