  • What bumpers fit on a festiva?

I clicked through 50 pages in the exterior section and found vague hints here and there.

I know none just bolt in, I understand they require some modding.

So what bumpers fit on a festy after mods?

I was at the JY last weekend and I pulled off a couple of bumpers and none seemed to fit good enough. Closest i came was an old nissan bumper, but it was a little rounder and there was about a 4'' offset in the middle of the bumper.

Every square bumper that did look like it might fit has rubber on it (you know the old style) and you cant paint rubber to the best of my knowledge.

you guys think an old corrado or jetta bumper will fit?

what else is out there and not too hard to find? because I couldnt find a stylus for the life of me. lol

thanx in advance for your replys.

oh yeah, the nissan bumper did not fit the bumper support on the festiva. You know, the metal frame behind the bumper. Which means I would have to mod the festiva frame for that bumper to fit better, which I would like to stay away from if I could.

Corrado front bumper won't fit without heavy mods, but I have a corrado rear on my car now.....

As far as front bumpers go, a few have done the Isuzu stylus and Advancedynamix has a daihatsu charade bumper that looks good.
      Stylus....

      Charade......

Stock bumpers fit really well on a festiva

        1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
        1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

@lanemeyer, thanks man, the corrado rear looks nice and sleek. Theres a guy on craigslist selling both for $40 not bad at all.

The stylus is hard to find..
The charade looks too cheap to me.

@damkid, my stock bumpers are painted and chipping, flaking, and cracking, so I figuered, if i have to replace it, i might as well mod one up (^_^)

My bad, didn't see that last part about not being able to find a stylus bumper. I've been wanting to try an older gti/golf bumper

Lanemeyer, how much modding was involved in the corrado rear?

Not a lot as far as the cutting goes (just the arches). For mounting it I went a different direction than I did with the stylus bumper and used the corrado bumper support instead of the festiva support. I did end up using the festy bumper support mounts and attaching them to the corrado support so it would bolt right up

You can still buy cheap aftermarket mk2 vw big bumper covers I think. There are a couple of guys who modded crx mugen style bumper covers.
On my charade bumper, I welded the festiva mounts to the charade support ( which is light as a feather)
I saw a stylus dead on the side of the freeway the other day so I'm going to scan the yards for it. I love that bumper.

lanemeyer, do you have a build thread for that bumper? I would like to see it if you do.

advanced dynamix...your bumper does look good, but the pic above does not do it justice, so i apologize for that comment. it is a nice bumper.

One of these should fit well, but may not be kind to your bank account!

It was cheap, like 35 bucks at PAP. Lol. It does look a lot better in person, it's much more low profile than the stock bumper. I like it because it looks very "RS", and that's the theme of my car. Out will also look better when I put a valence/ splitter on it .
