  • Thinking of doing something like this...

Since the bottom of my doors are rusty, I'm thinking of fixing and painting over them. What about a simple design like this? Any better ideas?

How far up the doors does the rust extend? I have a lot of paint chips in the lower part of the door, where the slight indentation is. I thought about painting the lower rocker panel black and bringing it up just an inch or so above the bottom edge of the door. Then, angle it down to the corner of the wheel wells. It would also give the illusion of flared wheel arches. Hard to explain, but basically like the older British Fiesta XR2 had. Here's a pic...

I've thought of that too but my rust extends up 4 or 5 inches in some spots. Quite a bit is rusted through too but if I can sand, glass, bondo and spray something... Done deal.

I do like your idea though.

As for the color, I was going to stick with two. Hopefully a dark silver and a white.

I like the look of the first pic, just remember not to curve the lines at all, since the festiva isn't a curved car. Other than that, shouldn't look bad.
              No festiva for me ATM...
