  • Is there a way to.....? (clear corners)

make clears for corner lights and tail lights?

There is a lot of talk lately about people wanting clear lenses and i have to admit, i do also.

So the question is... is the plastic itself orange, or is the inside painted orange?

If the inside is painted orange, I could imagine someone baking the housing off the lense and scrubbing it clear. scrub all the orange off.

On the Tahoe forum, there were guys baking their headlamps to get them apart and they would black out the inside housing.

Could this same rule apply here, but instead of painting the housing background....scrub or sand the orange off.

Believe the orange pigment is in the lens itself. I used to clear out taillights for my prelude by baking them like you mentioned to get them apart. The outer housing on prelude taillights are clear and they have an orange insert. I'd just take out the orange insert and replace it with a piece of flourescent light plastic cut to size

The acrylic corners use a dye in the compounding process.
It appears some batches didn't use UV stable dyes.
All the ones I've seen have been passenger sides which have faded to clear.

I saw in the FS forum some people are letting them go for $90-$100

there is no way on earth i will pay $100 USD for a set of 20yo corner lights. I would rather buy some 2010 s10 lights for $75 and make the mods necessary to fit them (if any mods are needed at all?).

what does your pricing look like?

Brand new at cost for forum members,

Theres no point trying to make money off them coz it just puts up the price and Ill only make how much i raise them which isnt much ahah .

I can get them for 60AU for a pair last time i checked. Plus shipping which is about 20.

The are replica's so there arent vertical strips but checkered.

                    They're all clear

                      80.00 AUD = 81.8886 USD

That is too high for my standards personally. even though they are brand new, I could get something here cheaper and mod it. I really appreciate the offer though and i think it is noble to help out the FF.com family like that.

these are $53 usd on ebay. i would much rather modify these to fit the festy, which i think would be very close fit.

and thats $53 for the headlights and corner light with the bulbs (^_^)

Downright decent of you to offer to buy, handle and ship novelty items all the way across the equator so that some fashionable/curious folks can go out and buy expensive orange bulbs to put in them.
