Front seats out of what? Sawzall. torches, Mig welder and much time and effort can put lavish leather Bentley seats on a golf cart.
Many of the Mazda seats from the same era as Festy's are compatible with regard to seat and back pads and their covers, if that's what you're asking. Frame-wise every car model is unique.
Festy passenger seat and drivers seat differ in cut-outs for controls, levers, floor mounts etc and do not interchange. However if the driver seat is 'bagged', switching foam pads and springs from R frame to L frame from a 'gently-used' passenger seat is not a huge undertaking, but does involve taking the entire seat apart.
    Good luck.

You can swap seat backs & cushons from Aspire, Escort, Tracer, Mazda 323 & Proteges. There are several very good threads on here on how to do it. SEARCH & DJ's Articals both!

Here is the thread. I have the Protege seats in mine, much better than stock!

I think he means swapping driver's with passenger seat. On an '89 the inside rear mount is on the tunnel underneath the ebrake console making it undoable for switching.

When I parted out the aspire for my swap I just swapped the seat rails, took about 15 minutes and the seats are much nicer looking,thEy kind of hurt my back on2+ hour trips but I have back problems so I'm not sure which is to blame.

I'd recommend Aspire or Protege seats. My Escort seat cushions are a bit hard, and lower.

You may be able swap just the foam cushion.

I thought of that too, but doubt it unless he used the new cushion's seat cover, because of different cushion shape--and the new cover wouldn't match the rest of his seats.
