Different seats in a Festiva

Ok, I'm getting ready to tackle the interior of my car very soon. I will not be putting the front festiva seats back in. I've heard of miata and mx3 seats being put in the festivas.
What are you guys using instead of festiva seats? Let me know and pics would be appreciated too.
Anyone ever have a rear seat recovered?

I have Integra 90-92 front seats, no rear seat at all soon. You can get them cheap and they don't look bad and are supportive. I think all be changing them for some Momo or Sparco soon. If you got the Zing you need the bling! Thats so lame.

323GTX seats. They look dirty in the picture, but they aren't. I love these seats, I liked them more then the Integra Type-R seats my friend had in his CRX.

What did you do for installing those seats? Were you able to modify the mounts or did you have to make new ones?

I'm currently trying to install some SwiftGT seats in my Festi. I thought that stripping the Swift seats of their forward/back slide mechanism and then welding them to the Festiva bracket was the easiest way. Everything lines up right now, except that the new seat is about 4" too high. Let the cutting and welding begin...

And then back it up with a 17.9 time slip Just kiddin Simon, your cars always look awesome!! Did you have someone weld up some brackets for them?? Also, did you have them make them so they sat lower than the original seats? I'm looking to put in one racing seat either a Sparco Sprint/Speed or a Momo Start but if I do I want to make it so I sit at least an inch to 2 inches lower.. -Kyle

silv3rbull3t... theres more to speed than just going in a straight line simon had his shop bend a set of brackets up for him. i think they sit about the same height as the stock seats if i remember correctly...

strat81, I hope you know I care much more about handling and braking than I do about straightline. I AutoX my car constantly in fact I just got back from an AutoX at Atco NJ with the SJR SCCA. Second, I was only playing when I said that to Simon, I genuinely meant what I said and I completely respect what he does with/and how he modifies his car. Ohh and as soon as the results are posted I will paste the link here for you. Just in case you still do think I am all about "straightline". -Kyle

This is when I first started racing anything period. First time AutoX'ing I made it onto the front cover of the newsletter, ohh and did I mention I won my class w/a bone stock Festiva? Or just look up my Festiva on CarDomain... It's under Festiva AutoX not Festiva "straightline". Please get your facts straight.

I put in a pair of seats taken from a first generation Toyota MR2. Still working our some of the mounting issues. I love the adjustablility in the driver's seat especially. Lots more side support in both the seat and back.

One drawback is the mismatch in upholstery but seat covers take care of that.

I hope to update my member's page in the next week or so.

And yes, I had them custom bent at a welding shop that makes boats. Paid $60 for them total and they are pretty nice quality. I need to redrill 2 of the holes because they fit way to tight and then strip the mounting holes.
